Our Story – Moa & More
🏞️ Where It All Began – The Heart of Sundarbans
Our story starts in the lush, biodiverse Sundarbans — not just a land of tigers and mangroves, but a land rich in culture, community, and culinary heritage. It’s here that generations of families have lived close to the soil, the seasons, and the sweetness of nature.
Our founders were raised in this unique ecosystem, where every winter brought the unmistakable aroma of Joynagarer Moa — soft, hand-rolled sweets made from fresh puffed rice (kanakchur khoi) and nolen gur (date palm jaggery), prepared with reverence, skill, and tradition.
These weren’t just treats. They were a celebration of Bengali identity, seasonal rituals, and the warmth of home. But as the world modernized, these delicate and time-sensitive foods became harder to access, especially in cities and abroad.
That’s when Moa & More was born — from the belief that some traditions deserve not just to be remembered, but to be shared, preserved, and proudly reimagined.
🌾 What We Stand For – Tradition as Our Foundation
At Moa & More, our mission is simple: to bring the most authentic, seasonal, and heritage-rich Bengali foods to the modern table — while upholding the values, purity, and pride of our ancestors.
We don’t just resell products. We work directly with trusted farmers, sweet-makers, and honey foragers across rural Bengal and the Sundarbans to ensure every item carries the unmistakable flavor of home.
🔥 What Makes Us Different:
Joynagarer Moa (GI Tagged) – Made only in the winter months using the traditional process, directly from Joynagar.
Nolen Gur & Patali Gur – Harvested from first-press date palm sap, rich in minerals and true to flavor.
Sundarban Wild Honey – Foraged sustainably by local communities from deep forest hives — raw, unfiltered, and free from adulteration.
Ananda Naru – A humble, nostalgic treat made from hand-grated coconut and jaggery, just like your grandmother used to make.
🔍 Our Journey – From Homemade to Households Everywhere
In the beginning, our sweets were shared only within our circle of family and friends. As word spread about the quality, authenticity, and seasonal freshness, orders began pouring in — not just from Bengal, but from all over India and the diaspora.
We realized there was a deep hunger — not just for taste, but for trust. A need for food that tells a story, respects tradition, and restores what’s been lost in industrial food systems.
This led us to build Moa & More as a brand — a tribute to our roots and a bridge to the future.
Today, we serve:
Customers across India, from metros to tier-2 towns
A growing community of NRIs and Bengali food lovers abroad
Curated gifting options for festivals, weddings, and corporate events
Every order is packed by hand with care, hygiene, and attention — because when you receive our products, you’re not just buying sweets; you’re receiving a piece of Bengal’s soul.
🔬 Our Philosophy – Innovation Within Tradition
We are proud of our tagline — Innovation within Tradition.
To us, innovation doesn’t mean changing the taste or process. It means:
Using better packaging to preserve freshness without preservatives
Offering online delivery so that heritage doesn’t get lost with distance
Experimenting with seasonal variations, limited editions, and fusion offerings while never compromising on authenticity
Empowering local women and artisans by bringing their work to a larger stage
Our team includes food researchers, storytellers, and rural producers — all working together to protect and evolve Bengal’s edible heritage.
🌿 Sustainability & Community First
We’re deeply committed to:
Sourcing ethically and paying fair wages to artisans
Avoiding artificial additives, shortcuts, or low-cost imitations
Supporting rural livelihoods and keeping traditional skills alive
When you shop from Moa & More, you support an entire ecosystem of farmers, foragers, and food-lovers who believe in honest, handcrafted nourishment.
🌍 The Road Ahead
We’re just getting started. Moa & More is expanding into:
Regional delicacies from across Bengal
